About Us
Northwest Church of Jesus Christ is a Bible centered bilingual (English/Spanish) Apostolic church serving Portland, Oregon and the surrounding communities. Our desire is to glorify Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, discipleship, evangelism and compassionate service to others.
We are committed to proclaiming the Apostolic Gospel and embracing the biblical teaching of the Oneness of God revealed in Jesus Christ, a belief often associated with the Apostolic and Oneness Pentecostal faith.
Mission Statement
To glorify Jesus Christ by proclaiming the Apostolic Gospel, making disciples and serving our community through worship, discipleship, outreach and compassion, sharing the love, hope and healing power of God with all people.

To be a Spirit filled church where lives are transformed by Jesus Christ, disciples are equipped for ministry and communities are reached with the Gospel, firmly rooted in Apostolic doctrine and biblical truth.
Core Values
1. Jesus Christ
"Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus." (Titus 2:13)
We worship and proclaim Jesus Christ as our Lord, Savior and God manifested in the flesh, the center of our faith, worship and mission.
2. Apostolic Truth
"And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching..." (Acts 2:42)
We are committed to the authority of Scripture and the Apostolic message, faithfully teaching and living according to God's Word.
3. Unity in the Body of Christ
"For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ." (1 Corinthians 12:12)
We believe that God equips His people with diverse gifts and callings for the edification of the church. As one body in Christ, we seek to use our unique abilities in unity, love and service to fulfill God's purpose and advance His Kingdom.
4. Compassionate Service
"He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8)
We demonstrate the love of Christ by serving all people with grace and compassion.
5. Evangelism and Discipleship
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." (Matthew 28:19-20)
We are called to share the Gospel, make disciples and equip believers to fulfill God's purpose in their homes, communities and the world.
Our story
NCJC did not begin in a large building or with a large congregation. Like many churches in the Book of Acts, it began with a few faithful people gathering together to pray, worship and seek God's direction for our lives.
More than 25 years ago, after much prayer and counsel, my family and I felt the Lord leading us to begin a new work. What started with a small group of believers meeting in my home eventually moved to my parents' home, where there was more room to gather. Those homes became places of prayer, worship, Bible study, fellowship, and spiritual growth. What may have seemed small to others was never small in God's eyes.
Over the years, we have seen lives changed, families strengthened, and children grow into adults who now help carry the responsibility of ministry. Through every season, challenge, and transition, God has remained faithful.
I have had the privilege of serving as pastor since 2000 and one of the greatest blessings of my life has been watching God work through this church family. While some members have been with us from the beginning and others have joined more recently, we remain united in our commitment to the Apostolic message and to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with our community.
Most importantly, this is not my church, nor is it our church. It is God's church. We are simply stewards of what He has entrusted to us.
